1. What is the California Academy Foundation (C.A.F.) and what does it have to do with MAD Academy?

C.A.F. is a non-profit foundation that oversees an endowment composed of several substatial donations. The sustainablility of the foundation depends upon fiscal oversight from the MAD Academy Board of the Directors.

2. What is this Endowment for the MAD Academy and where does it come from?

The money in the endowment is from a financial contribution made years ago and invested so as to create an annual draw for the MAD Academy program while protecting the fund.

3. How is the Board elected?

Anyone interested in being elected to the self-governing MAD Board of Directors can write to the president of the Board of Directors to inquire about current or future openings.

4. How is the Board regulated?

The Board of Directors is guided by the By-laws for the California Academy Foundation, which can be found here.

5. When does the MAD Academy Board meet?

The Board of Directors meets on the first Tuesday of every month except suring summer. Minutes from previous meetings can be found provided upon request.
